Over the years, the Resident Evil series has given us many memorable bad guys. Here are the ten best.

Resident Evil has been around for 20 years, and in that time it has helped make the survival horror genre what it is today. The first game in the series came out in 1996. Since then, there have been many more games, a movie franchise, and a TV show based on the series. Capcom’s beloved brand has a lot of games and spin-offs, so fans are always wondering what or who will come next.

Over the years, the Resident Evil series has given us many memorable characters, some of whom became as well-known as the most famous characters in the history of video games. Here are the ten best bad guys in the history of Resident Evil.

Jack Baker – Resident Evil 7

Jack Baker - Resident Evil 7

The Baker family father brought a new era of horror with Resident Evil. This was after Capcom moved away from survival horror games and made more action-based games. In Resident Evil 7, players were able to jump back into the survival horror world by taking on the role of Ethan Winters, a new main character.

After getting a video message from his missing wife Mia, Ethan goes to the run-down Baker house. When he gets there, he finds that the place isn’t as deserted as he thought. He meets the Baker family, who used to be a quiet, kind family, but the mold turned them into evil killers. Jack Baker, the father, is the one who never gives up. No matter how many times Ethan is able to defeat him, he always comes back stronger until their final battle.

Mr. X – Resident Evil 2

Mr. X - Resident Evil 2

When Mr. X first shows up in Resident Evil 2, it is clear that he is a more powerful version of the original villain from the first game. Even though he was still scary in 1998, Mr. X made a big impression on the series when he came back in the 2019 version of Resident Evil 2. Mr. X became a classic Resident Evil bad guy because he is a tall, towering juggernaut of unstoppable force who shrugs off most bullets like they are a minor hassle.

Since no weapon in the game can stop him from doing his job, and no matter where Claire or Leon go, Mr. X is not far behind, his relentless chase of the player made for a scary and intense experience. Players can put an end to Mr. X’s rule of terror only when they fight the boss, which will happen in the game’s last few hours.

Roman Salazar – Resident Evil 4

Roman Salazar - Resident Evil 4

Saddler is the one who came up with Las Plagas and the plan to send the parasite to America through Ashley, but Roman Salazar is still one of the best and most memorable bad guys in Resident Evil 4. Salazar, the little lord of the castle, has an army of cultists and some very scary creatures that he sends after Leon to get rid of him. He would rather not fight Leon directly.

From his Napoleon-like height to the horrifying way he changes when he finally faces Leon head-on, he is one of Capcom’s most interesting bad guys, but also one of the easiest to get rid of. Like many RE4 bosses, Salazar can be killed with one well-placed hit from a rocket launcher during his boss fight. However, what Salazar lacks in bite, he makes up for in bark.

William Birkin – Resident Evil 2

William Birkin - Resident Evil 2

William Birkin is a classic example of a crazy scientist. After doing study with Albert Wesker in the mansion, Birkin was moved to a facility in Raccoon City, where he kept working on the G-virus.

The chemist betrayed Umbrella and tried to sell the G-virus to the US Military, which is also working on a project to make bioweapons. Then, Umbrella tried to get a sample of the G-virus from Birkin. This led to the events that caused the spread in Raccoon City, which killed 100,000 people who didn’t do anything wrong. In the end, he is hurt by his own work. He injects himself with the virus on purpose, turning himself into a frightening monster.

Eveline – Resident Evil 7

Eveline - Resident Evil 7

Even though other people in the Baker family often stole the show, Eveline was always the real bad guy. She was a new kind of bioweapon that spread mold to the Baker family and turned them into monsters, but Eveline is definitely the scariest of them all.

At first, she looks like a normal little girl. This makes people feel sorry for her, which she takes advantage of. But as the game goes on, Eveline gets weaker and weaker until she is a frail old woman in a wheelchair who tends to show up in places where you would expect to see her. At the end of Resident Evil 7, players will see Eveline’s final form. Which is a big pile of black flesh that looks like mold and a twisted, horrifying face.

Mother Miranda – Resident Evil Village

Mother Miranda - Resident Evil Village

Mother Miranda became a cult leader and flock mother in the Romanian village where she lived. She was the first person in the village to get sick from the Mold. Mother Miranda got very smart and powerful, and she started experimenting with this mystery substance. She used her own people as test subjects, hoping to find a way to bring her daughter back from the dead. This is what led to Rosemary Winters being taken away.

Mother Miranda shows up here and there throughout the game. She can change her look from young and beautiful to old and wrinkled, and she talks to Ethan in riddles. Miranda is without a doubt one of the smartest bosses in the whole series. However, when Ethan faces her at the end of Resident Evil Village, she shows that she is also strong. Even though what she did was horrible, her touching reasons explain why she did it.

Nemesis – Resident Evil 3

Nemesis - Resident Evil 3

Nemesis from Resident Evil 3 is hard to forget. Even though the villains in the other games were scary. None of them could be as scary as Nemesis when he killed Brad Vickers in front of Jill Valentine. This scene alone was enough to give players a good idea of what they would face as they played the game.

Nemesis is the most dangerous of all the rulers, and not just because he looks scary. He runs, carries weapons, and is very good at tracking, making him the perfect model of what a bioweapon can do. Like Mr. X, Nemesis was almost immune to damage. And every time the players thought he was dead, he would come back in a bigger, stronger form.

Ozwell E. Spencer – Resident Evil 5

Ozwell E. Spencer - Resident Evil 5

Even though Ozwell E. Spencer isn’t as well-known as the other people on this list. He is seen as the source of all evil in Resident Evil. Spencer is the person in charge of the huge Umbrella Corporation. He was the first person to study viruses. And how they can be used to make bioweapons that don’t think for themselves but do what they’re told.

The founder of the Umbrella Corporation is also one of the most mysterious bad guys in Resident Evil history. Since players only see him when he dies in Resident Evil 5. Even though Spencer was responsible for most of the bad things that happened in the series. It took Capcom thirteen years to finally put him in a game. He died at the hands of Resident Evil’s best bad guy.

Alcina Dimitrescu – Resident Evil Village

Alcina Dimitrescu - Resident Evil Village

Miranda wasn’t the only mother in Resident Evil Village. Lady Dimitrescu was a mother to Bela, Cassandra, and Daniela, who were her three children. Alcina is the first person Ethan meets. She is one of the four lords who watch over a piece of the broken Rosemary Winters. She is a huge woman who towers over most of the other bosses in Resident Evil. Even before she changes into a dragon, her size and sharp nails make her a dangerous opponent.

Even though Alcina is defeated in the first quarter of Basket Random game, her character and style make her still a big part of the game. Capcom took a chance when they made the four lords. Since they are all very different from what fans are used to seeing in the popular series, but it paid off. All four lords are different and reflect different types of horror, but Alcina is the best of them all.

Albert Wesker – Various

Albert Wesker - Various

Albert Wesker is without a doubt one of the most well-known bad guys in the history of Resident Evil. Wesker and his dark sunglasses have been involved in every bad thing. That has happened in the first five Resident Evil games since the first one.

Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles, a spin-off game, showed players what the bad guy wanted to do and how he was still trying to take over the world. Without Chris, Jill, and Sheva’s help during the events of Resident Evil 5. Wesker would have been able to spread Uroboros all over the world. This would have killed millions or even billions of people.
